So I have this pretty lady lying down in its velvet case, undisturbed, really, a sleeping beauty. I totally agree with your points, and have performed the EJ mod in one guitar I own, but sadly could not experience all the might of the S1 switch, as it got stuck... while I'm ordering and waiting for the new S1 to arrive, all I can say is that I'm looking forward to the next opportunity to place some DA pick ups in it. Since this is a relatively old post, I wonder if DA pick ups are still the go-to choice for EJ sounds. In the one I modded with your help, I had EJ pick ups from Fender. I love it! So I really appreciate the work and thought you put into this!

Quick question: I read your other blogs on "dependent" and "independent" volume wiring as it relates to tone control on a Strat. In this diagram, are you not creating a "dependent" volume by wiring hot into first lug of volume? Could I switch and have input on 2nd lug, and output on first lug? Or could I instead add a treble bleed on the first lug?

Thanks again for your help!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1706901742957051220.post-89600007688726939182017-06-28T21:56:56.754+02:002017-06-28T21:56:56.754+02:00Correction - I meant the Tele combination Bridge a...Correction - I meant the Tele combination Bridge and Neck in parallel.
JPJPhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07914255341461309870noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1706901742957051220.post-75309179259014201392017-06-28T21:55:25.460+02:002017-06-28T21:55:25.460+02:00Hi - this looks great.

If you do that, you will put in permanent contact both pickups for each position in the blade switch, ruining the complete design.
You can choose which pickup to link to each tone pot but, just one at a time (i.e. N+, M+ or B+ but, it's impossible to handle two pickups with a tone pot in this design).Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05377067951351802192noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1706901742957051220.post-45806765263551529032014-09-05T02:46:31.749+02:002014-09-05T02:46:31.749+02:00Great setup, can't wait to try this.
